Centro de Recuperação e Educação Nutricional - CREN (Nutrition Education and Recovery Center) was founded in 1993 and is focused on food and nutrition education for children.
One of the projects created by the Center, named EXPERIENCES THAT NURTURE II, fosters and disseminates food and nutrition educational actions in early childhood school environments, in the district of São Miguel Paulista, in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The project team engages early childhood educators, families, and the children themselves to build and change eating habits. The project started in 2020 based on a field research study targeting the resources and conditions of each school. In August 2021, a pilot program was launched in six schools, including continuing education for pedagogical coordinators, teachers, and staff in a hybrid model, as well as the creation and validation of a tool that was co-created with educators tailored to routine teaching activities: a physical game, custom-made for children. With this game, teachers can guide the contents addressed in class, and children and their families can take part in the process in an interactive and sensory way. The project is being extended to 44 additional schools. In total, the project will impact more than 6,000 children in São Miguel Paulista, and it can potentially be replicated in other locations.

Impulso Gov is a non-profit public health organization that works alongside city and state managers to boost the use of data and technology in the public sector, ensuring the right to a healthy life for all people.
The Impulso Previne project is a free digital solution to help manage a Program known as Previne Brasil (Brazil Prevention). The project is unique as it directly connects data analysis with the healthcare funds received by municipalities. The Platform compiles and translates these data into accessible information, allowing primary care indicators to be monitored so that municipalities can identify the most significant bottlenecks and prioritize them. The new open platform indicates which actions a municipality can take to improve the quality of local healthcare services, with benefits to all users of SUS (Brazilian Public Healthcare System). In addition, the municipality that successfully implements the improvements will receive more funds from the federal government, further enhancing the quality of local healthcare.
NCDs Forum
The Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Forum is intended to promote partnerships among major institutions of the public, private, and third sectors to fight chronic non-communicable diseases. It is an ongoing initiative through its digital platforms and biannual meetings. Today, more than 100 institutions take part in the forum.
Instituto Opy helped the NCDs Forum plan a national contest that received applications from innovative projects that had already been successful (even if preliminarily) concerning the prevention, promotion, diagnosis, and treatment of one or more chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The top five projects were introduced at the 9th NCDs Forum in October 2021. To facilitate potential partnerships, the contact information of each project leader was shared with institutions from different sectors that attended the meeting.
