Focused on the First 1,000 Days of Life and the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases, we identify existing solutions and technologies, working in an articulated way to improve primary care services.
The First 1,000 Days of Life
We believe that creating, supporting, and fostering precise health promotion and prevention actions are the best social investment we can make to generate a positive impact on the health of the most vulnerable people.
Chronic Disease Prevention
Chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) account for more than 70% of the deaths in Brazil. To address the rise of chronic conditions, we have to break the paradigm of care that is restricted to acute episodes only.
While Opy Health operates in hospital environments, i.e., supporting the cure of diseases, Instituto Opy works towards health promotion.
Our mission is to help transform the healthcare sector, focusing on health promotion actions. This is not an easy task because the challenges are countless and Brazil is a complex country, with continental dimensions and social inequalities. This increasingly motivates us to work on promoting the health of children and pregnant women and reducing risk factors for chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Projects
One of our operating strategies is to establish partnerships and alliances with institutions that have similar projects and initiatives. For a partnership, projects and initiatives must be in line with the area of expertise of the Institute.
“
By creating its Institute, Opy Health consolidates its commitment to public health in Brazil and reinforces its investment in philanthropic actions. As social investors, we want our contribution to leave a tangible legacy for the vulnerable population, in addition to expanding the impact of Opy’s operations.
